Wildcats name Parsons as head football coach

Chuck Parsons, an assistant for the past four seasons, has been named head football coach for the North Dakota State College of Science Wildcats.

Parsons was named the interim head coach in December following the resignation of Mike Beagle.

Parsons was the defensive coordinator under Beagle for four seasons and also held the title of assistant head coach during the 2006 season.

This will be Parson’s first head coaching position. He spent three years as an offensive student assistant coach at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, Minn. after an injury ended his collegiate playing career.

Following that, he worked for three years as a defensive graduate assistant coach at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Okla. before joining the NDSCS staff.

Parsons said his immediate priorities are contacting the recruits who have been waiting for a resolution on the coaching position and starting spring practice in early April.
