Brenda Woytassek, ATOD coordinator, said nearly a dozen youth from surrounding schools participated. The youth board was created to bring student-aged people into the coalition and tap into their invaluable insight about the pressures being confronted by today's youth.
"We discussed targeted ad campaigns," she said. She cited a statistic that revealed companies spend millions of dollars per minute, 365 days a year, projecting ads onto youth.

The youth viewed a video about underage drinking as well, Woytassek said.
Natalie Butenhoff, detective sergeant with the Breckenridge Police Department, was the presenter at the meeting. "I showed them various drug paraphernalia," she said. Butenhoff showed the youth confiscated one-hitters, crack pipes and containers, which addicts hide their drugs in to avoid detection.
Butenhoff said the youth were somewhat surprised at how desperate addicts become. "They were surprised at where an addict will shoot-up when they run out of places," she said.
"The kids really want to see Tim Fox's meth video," Woytassek said. "We'll probably be viewing that at the next meeting."
The next meeting will be in December.
