Michael Steven Morgan, 52, of Breckenridge, Minn., formerly of Tintah, Minn., died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008 at St. Francis Healthcare Campus in Breckenridge, following a heart attack.

Funeral will be held 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 22 at St. Gall’s Catholic Church in Tintah, with Rev. Andrew Marthaler and Rev. Arlie Sowada officiating.

Visitation will be held in Tintah from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at St. Gall’s Catholic Church. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Interment will be at St. Gall’s Catholic Cemetery, Tintah.

Michael Steven Morgan was born Nov. 19, 1956, in Breckenridge, the son of Robert and Jean (Thoennes) Morgan. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Gall’s Catholic Church in Tintah and graduated from Campbell-Tintah High School in 1975. He attended Moorhead Technical College and received a degree in carpentry in 1978. Michael later moved to Omaha, Neb., and worked as a diesel mechanic. From there he moved to Denver, Colo., and worked with his brother, Pat. Mike and Pat were certified diesel mechanics and were considered the best in their field in the Denver metro area. Many trucking firms requested their expertise.

In 1998, Mike moved back home to Minnesota and worked for Klein Farms near Breckenridge. There he operated a custom combing crew every summer, from Texas up to the Dakotas. Mike was a very diligent worker and took pride in everything he did.

Mike enjoyed hunting with his family and friends. He was interested in astronomy and the space shuttle missions and had numerous collectable books. He loved to watch the History channel, National Geographic and Discovery. His greatest passion was his work. He enjoyed getting in his truck and hauling John Deere equipment.

He is survived by his mother, Jeanne Morgan, Fargo, N.D.; his brothers, James “Patrick” (Vicki) Morgan, Thornton, Colo., Joseph Morgan, Underwood, Minn., John (Kristi) Morgan, Lake Park, Minn., Jason Morgan, Breckenridge; his sisters, Mary Kay (Terry) Rufer, Buffalo, Minn., Michelle (Doug) Sogge, Greeley, Colo., Eileen (Tim) Eiter, Mentor, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert James Morgan.
