The funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27 at Bethany Free Lutheran Church, rural Abercrombie, N.D., with the Rev. Francis Monseth officiating.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26 with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Willow Creek Chapel (920 3rd Ave. N.) Wahpeton, and one hour before the service at the church on Friday.

Maurice was born in Lloydminster, Sask., Canada, on Feb. 5, 1925, to Selmer and Alma (Hermo) Myhre. At the age of 13 the family moved to rural Abercrombie, where he attended school. Maurice served in the Army during the Korean War. On Nov. 20, 1948, he married Florence Hermunslie at Bethany Free Lutheran Church, rural Abercrombie. The couple lived and raised their five children near Abercrombie. Maurice’s passion was farming; he started farming at the age of 16 and farmed for 60 years. He entered the Minnesota Veteran’s Home in Fergus Falls in December of 2007.
Maurice was a member of Bethany Free Lutheran Church where he was a church deacon and trustee. He served on the school board, was a 4-H Leader and after retirement enjoyed working with flowers and doing jigsaw puzzles.
Maurice is survived by: his wife Florence Myhre, Pelican Valley Nursing Home, Pelican Rapids, Minn.; three sons and two daughters, Mark (Pam) Myhre, Abercrombie, Gary (Denise) Myhre, Rugby, N.D., Norma (Dennis) Brudwick, Alexandria, Va., Sandra (Rick) Sletmoen, Hawley, Minn., and Earl (Vicki) Myhre, Abercrombie; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Victor Myhre, Fergus Falls, Kenneth (Beverly) Myhre, Crete Ill., and David (Ruth) Myhre, Half Moon Bay, Calif.; one sister, Judith (Percy) Strand, Wahpeton; his sister-in-law, Lois Myhre, Abercrombie; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his grandson, Nicholas Myhre; his brother, Owen Myhre; his sister-in-law, Pauline Myhre.
Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, is in charge of arrangements.
