Wounded Minn. deputy to leave hospital

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A Minnesota sheriff’s deputy wounded by gunfire is set to leave a Fargo hospital for a rehabilitation hospital in Colorado.

Chris Dewey was shot in the head and abdomen just over two weeks ago, while investigating a shooting in a Mahnomen (muh-NOH’-min) neighborhood.

MeritCare Hospital says Dewey is scheduled to be transferred by airplane Thursday to Denver, where he will receive rehabilitation at Craig Hospital in Englewood, Colo.

Craig Hospital specializes in traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries.

Two men are charged in Dewey’s shooting.
