ND tribes getting housing help
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota tribes are getting $7.8 million in federal housing grants.
The money is through the Department of Housing and Urban Development, better known as HUD.
North Dakota’s congressional delegation says the money may be used for new construction, acquisition, rehabilitation and infrastructure development.
The Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa is getting $3.4 million, the Standing Rock Sioux $2 million, the Three Affiliated Tribes $1.5 million and the Spirit Lake Sioux $1 million.
HUD also has awarded $3.4 million in grants to public housing agencies across North Dakota.
