The local funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 30 at Bethany United Methodist Church, rural Fairmount, with the Rev. Fern Bailey officiating.
Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.

Doris Helen Dodds was born May 10, 1917, in Circle, Mont., to Ralph and Blanch Dodds. On May 10, 1938, Doris’s birthday, she was united in marriage to Elwood “Jim” Grimes in South Dakota. They moved into Fairmount in 1958 when they retired from farming. They later moved to Wahpeton, N.D., and then to Silverton, where they spent their winters. Jim died Oct. 19, 1997, and Doris continued to live in Oregon.
Doris was a founding member of the Bethany Methodist Church, enjoyed music (French Horn) and her many hobbies included crocheting, making dolls and crosswords. She was proud of her husband Jim’s steam engine building and accompanied him to many “Steam-ups.”
Doris is survived by: her sister, Gloria “Skipp” Dodds, Silverton; nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband Jim; and three sisters. She will be missed by all.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.
