Randy L. Baker, 50, Breckenridge, Minn., died Sunday, April 26, 2009, at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, due to injuries sustained in an auto accident.

The funeral memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 30, at Bethel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton, with the Rev. Harvey Henderson officiating.

There will be time to visit with the family one hour before the service at the church.

Vertin-Munson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Randy was born Jan. 29, 1959, at Breckenridge, the son of Henry and Arlene (Johanesmeyer) Baker. He moved with his family to Denver, Colo., at the age of 6 months. They returned to Wahpeton where Randy attended St. John’s Catholic Grade School and graduated from Wahpeton Senior High in 1977. He attended North Dakota State College of Science and married Shane Singelman. Randy worked for Ro-Banks Manufacturing in Wahpeton and in 1985 started working with Minn-Dak Farmers Co-operative, where he continued to work for the next 23 years. He was united in marriage to Denise Tougas on Dec. 27, 2003.

Randy was a caring helpful friend and neighbor, which he continued in death through the gift of organ and tissue donation. He took great pride in taking care of his lawn, enjoyed scuba diving and taking care of the many family pets which he referred to as his "Zoo."

Randy is survived by: his wife Denise Baker, Breckenridge; his children, Kayla Kaseman and Wade, Wahpeton, Kari Baker and Fiancee Rob Patton, Bismarck, N.D., Ariana Tougas, Breckenridge; granddaughter, Briar; two brothers, Ken (Jo) Baker, Scottsdale, Ariz., Rick (Viktoriya) Baker, Wahpeton; his sister, Linda (Duane) Formaneck, Rosemount, Minn.; and brother-in-law, Myron Ottmar, Elk River, Minn.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his sister, Donna Ottmar; and his son, Nicholas Tougas.
