Arbor Day: Wahpeton celebrates 25 years as a Tree City Wahpeton Central Elementary fifth-graders, from Mrs. Pederson’s and Mrs. LaNoue’s class, had a sunshine filled afternoon Friday planting numerous trees at the Chahinkapa Zoo in honor of Arbor Day. The students also learned the how to correctly plant a tree from Wahpeton Parks and Recreation Director Wayne Beyer. Together, they celebrated the city’s 25th year as a Tree City.
