Vanesa Diaz, Pelican Rapids, M.N., and Ben Hustel, Veblen, S.D., announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

Parents of the bride are Jose and Amada Diaz, Pelican Rapids.

Parents of the groom are Sherman and Nancy Hustel, Veblen.

Vanesa is a 2000 graduate of Pelican Rapids High School, and a 2006 graduate of Minnesota State Community and Technical College Fergus Falls, Minn., with an associate's degree in nursing. She is a licensed practical nurse of St. Francis Healthcare Campus, Breckenridge, Minn.

Ben is a 2004 graduate of Sisseton High School and a 2006 graduate of Minnesota State Community and Technical College Fergus Falls, with an associate's degree in criminal justice. He is employed by the Wahpeton Post Office as a rural mail carrier.

A June 7, 2009, wedding is planned at St. Leonard Church, Pelican Rapids, followed by a reception and dance at the Pavilion in Detroit Lakes, Minn.
