Blake Ryan Kragness, 24, Wahpeton, died on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at his home in Wahpeton, N.D. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Bethel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton, with Rev. Jim Gustafson officiating.

Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the Willow Creek Chapel located at 920 Third Ave North in Wahpeton. There will also be visitation at the church Saturday morning from 10-11 a.m.

Blake Ryan Kragness was born on May 24, 1985 in Breckenridge, Minn., to Duane and Patricia (Anderson) Kragness. He attended Pinedale Elementary School in Rapid City, S.D. and moved to Wahpeton in 1997. Blake graduated from Wahpeton High School in 2004 and recently finished his studies at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis-St. Paul with a degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice. His plans were to pursue a law degree. Blake was an avid sports enthusiast and played basketball. He enjoyed hiking and rock climbing but most importantly spending time with his family and friends; especially family holidays.

He is survived by his parents; Patricia (Val) Conley, Detroit Lakes, Minn., and Duane Kragness, Wahpeton, his loving sisters, Sarah and Brooke Kragness, Phoenix, Ariz., one step-sister, Kelly (Brian) Engstrom, St. Michael, Minn., two step-brothers, Steve (Nancy) Conley, Alexandria, Minn. and Craig (Darlene) Conley, Hawley, Minn., his maternal grandparents, Tilman and Iona Anderson, Hillsboro, N.D., paternal grandparents, Joe and Agnes Kragness, Wahpeton, special aunts and uncles, Betty and Monte Gregoire, Les Anderson, Larry and Sherry Anderson, Donna and Tom Harlow and many cousins.
