Jeannine Louise Jacklitch was born on May 24, 1929, in Thief River Falls, Minn., the daughter of George and Belle (Blair) Erickson. She attended the Thief River Falls High School graduating in 1947, continuing her education at Moorhead State University where she graduated with a teaching degree. She began her teaching career in the Campbell School District.

Jeannine married Virgil Jacklitch on June 19, 1951. After their marriage they lived and farmed together on their farm by Campbell. Jeannine continued teaching for a few years, then did substitute teaching in both elementary and high schools in the surrounding area. They retired in 1981, spending summers on Otter Tail Lake and wintering in Mesa, Ariz. In April of this year, they moved into the Lakeview Senior Living Apartments in Battle Lake.

Jeannine was a member of the St. Gall's Catholic Church in Tintah where she was involved with the Ladies Aid. After retirement, she attended St. James Catholic Church, rural Underwood, Minn., and Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Battle Lake. Jeannine enjoyed gardening, was a great cook, enjoyed playing bridge, loved to dance and was an avid reader. Her primary devotion, however, was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by: her husband, Virgil; four daughters, Jennifer (Robert) Oschwald of St. Joseph, Minn., Mary (Michael) McGillivray of Clark, S.D., Laurie Jacklitch of Arden Hills, Minn., Jill (Robert) Anderson of Bemidji, Minn.; six grandchildren and two great-granddaughters, Ann Oschwald of Durango, Colo., Zachary Oschwald of Arden Hills, Erin (Marty) Cahoy of Tea, S.D., Kirstin (Ray) Olson and Grace of Shakopee, Minn., Jami McGillivray of Faulkton, S.D., Megan (Justin) Fink and Gianna Belle of Maple Grove, Minn.; one brother, Jack (Barbara) Erickson of St. George, Utah.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, George and Belle Erickson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Battle Lake Good Samaritan Society or the Red Cross.
