Paulette Rene’e Thorson, 48, Henning, Minn., died Sunday, June 21, 2009, at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, N.D., surrounded by her family.

The funeral service will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, at the Olson Funeral Home Chapel in Fergus Falls, Minn., with the Rev. Lyle Hoxtel officiating.

Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Girard Union Cemetery, Henning.

Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls is in charge of arrangements.

Paulette was born April 21, 1961, in Grand Forks, N.D., the daughter of Donald and Shirley (Charboneau) Holweger. In 1965 Paulette moved with her family to Wahpeton, N.D., and in 1976 they moved to Fergus Falls. Paulette graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1978.

She was employed at BJ’s East from 1981 until the present. She will be missed by many.

In 1986 she married Charles Oak.

In 1999 she married Kurt Thorson. She loved being at the farm and deer hunting.

Survivors include: her husband, Kurt Thorson of Henning; her mother, Shirley Anderson and her stepfather, Duane Anderson of Fergus Falls; her brothers, Perry (DaNell) Holweger of Breckenridge, Minn., and Scott Holweger of Omaha, Neb.; a sister, Susan (Dean) Knudson of Brainerd, Minn.; her mother-in-law, Rose Thorson of Henning; Kurt’s brothers and sisters, Douglas (Diane) Thorson, Jodell (Karen) Thorson, Lori (Mark) Rudnick, and Cindre (Kelly) Hartshorn; and her godchildren, Damon Menze-Thorson and Isaac Fyhrie; she is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as her special dog, Penny.

Preceding her in death were: an infant son, Jacob, and her father.
