Steven Milton Anderson, and his wife, Kim, both 49, Wahpeton, N.D., died Thursday, June 25, 2009, as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Their deaths have been a difficult and tragic loss for the families.

Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 30 at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, West Fargo, N.D.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, June 29 with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at West Funeral home, West Fargo.

Final resting place will be at Moorhead Memorial Gardens.

Steve was born June 15, 1960, in Grand Forks, N.D., and was the youngest son of Stanley and Margaret Anderson. He attended school in Grand Forks and completed technical school for commercial truck driving in East Grand Forks, Minn. Steve drove semi and commercial trucks cross-county for several years, and also served in the National Guard.

Some people that were important to him included a great-uncle and aunt, Adolph and Mary Gronhovd of Nekoma, N.D. Steve spent several summers on their farm, and found his first passion while driving the tractors. Elsie and Al DeMaine were neighbors that were like an extra set of parents to him.

Steve married Kimberly Berglund on April 28, 2003, in West Fargo. They were living in Wahpeton at the time of their deaths. He was working most recently for Sterling Transport. Steve enjoyed watching race car driving, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by: his son, Craig Anderson of Dalton, Minn.; siblings, Gerald Anderson of Center, N.D., John Anderson of Minneapolis, Minn., Judy Krogfoss of Fitchberg, Wis., Mary Andersen of Apple Valley, Minn., Shelly Wasylow of Arvilla, N.D., Stan Whitebird of White Bear Lake, Minn., Terry Whitebird of Rankin, Ill.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Kim’s daughters: Sara and Heather Pelkey; and three grandchildren: Chayse, Paige, and Drake.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, grandparents and an uncle.

Memorials may be sent to the family via West Funeral Homes, 226 4th Ave. W., West Fargo, ND 58078. Donations may be made to the Roger Maris Cancer Center.
