Delia M. Bolstad, 93, Colfax, N.D., died Saturday, June 27, 2009, at Bethany Homes in Fargo, N.D.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 2, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Colfax.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 1 with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, N.D., and one hour before the service at the church on Thursday.

Burial will be at Our Savior’s Lutheran Cemetery, Colfax.

Delia was born Feb. 28, 1916, at Rustad, Minn., the daughter of Emil and Clara (Olson) Evenson. As a young girl, she moved with her family to the Walcott, N.D., area after her father died. She attended rural school near Walcott and high school at Colfax. Delia was united in marriage to Palmer Bolstad on Oct. 28, 1939, at Wolverton, Minn. They farmed in the Colfax area and in 1956 they moved into Colfax. Delia worked at Richland 44 School for more than 20 years in food service. Palmer died April 11, 1975; Delia continued to live in Colfax, where she was a popular sitter for many of the youth in the area.

Delia was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and was active in WELCA, including their quilting group. She also was involved in Colfax Senior Citizens. She was loved by the many children at school and those she took care of over the years.

Delia is survived by: her son-in-law, Harvey (Betsy) Hinrichs, Sarasota, Fla.; her grandson, Dustin (Chris) Hinrichs, Farmington, Minn.; and two great-grandsons, Jon and Joey; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Palmer; her two daughters, Sharon Hinrichs and Pamela and her husband Michael Harles; her siblings, Clarence, Edwin, Oscar, Henry, Arthur, Godfrey and Emelie.
