Breckenridge had many opportunities to score and left eight runners on base in the first four innings.
"The difference in the game is that we couldn't get the two out hits when we needed them," coach Kevin Hiedeman said. "And Pelican did."

Ryan Voss and David Bergquist got hits, and Justin Sorum reached on an error.
Despite the two runs, Breckenridge left the bases loaded as the inning ended.
Pelican Rapids got a run back in the bottom of the second inning. They connected for two doubles off Breckenridge starting pitcher Bryan Jacklitch.
In the bottom of the second, Pelican Rapids tied the score at two after hitting a lead-off triple.
Pelican Rapids got the lead in the bottom of the third inning after getting a hit and a two-run homerun.
Trailing 4-2, Post 53 got one run in the top of the fourth inning.
Erik Hiedeman led off the inning with a walk.
Hiedeman stole second base and Jacklitch reached on a walk.
Both runners advanced on a wild pitch and Bergquist drove in Hiedeman with a sacrifice fly ball.
Leading 4-3, Pelican Rapids shut out Brekenridge the rest of the game and added three runs in the bottom of the fourth, one run in the fifth and two more in the sixth inning.
Jacklitch pitched five innings for Post 53 and allowed eight runs on nine hits, while striking out four.
Zach Hegge pitched the final inning and gave up two runs on two hits, while striking out two.
Breckenridge hosts Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Thursday night for a doubleheader starting at 5:30 p.m., at Cowboy Field.
Before the first game, the team plans to thank and honor the American Legion Post 53 members for their support.
