Two in custody for drive-by shooting

The Breckenridge Police Department took two suspects into custody Wednesday evening after Wapheton Police received a report of a drive-by shooting on Harrison Road in Wahpeton. Breckenridge police stopped a female driver and male passenger on Fifth Street near the Wilkin County Courthouse. Witnesses said the male passenger fired off several rounds toward 905 Harrison Road around 8:55 p.m. The two suspects are being held at the Wilkin County Correctional Center with felony charges pending. No injuries were reported, but a number of people, including eight small children, were at the residence at the time of the shooting. The investigation is ongoing. Also assisting in the incident were Wilkin County Sheriff’s Office, Richland County Sheriff’s Office and North Dakota Highway Patrol.

    " This incident has nothing to do with the 2nd amendment. A drive by shooting isn't a right. It's a felony. That's not politically correct. Also Gitmo was for terrorists, this guy attempted murder. Do we have to have someone killed before it's ok to cuff them. Our police were doing their job. Good Job! "
