Sunflower oil exports to Canada up

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The National Sunflower Association says exports of U.S. sunflower oil to Canada are running 65 percent ahead of last year and heading for a record.

The association says Canadian food processors are importing U.S. sunflower oil for prepared foods and snack products.

It says 55,963 metric tons of oil were shipped to Canada from October last year through May this year. That compares with 34,043 metric tons during the same period last year.

The association says the record for all last year was 60,099 metric tons.
