GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — An advisory group to the administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency is meeting in Grand Forks.

Grand Forks Mayor Michael Brown is a member of the FEMA National Advisory Council and issued the invitation to meet in the city two years ago.

He says the Wednesday and Thursday meeting at the Alerus Center is an opportunity to share the lessons learned from the 1997 Red River flood and show the council members the flood mitigation efforts in the city.
