West Fargo Schools sets vote meeting

WEST FARGO, N.D. (AP) — West Fargo school officials are holding three public meetings this week on a possible $39 million school referendum in early October.

The meetings over the next three days are aimed at seeing how school district residents would feel about voting on such a project.

In June, voters rejected a $65 million proposal that called for a new elementary school, a second high school, more outdoor fields and other school renovations. A majority of voters favored the idea, but not the 60 percent that was required.

The plan calls for a $29 million high school and $10 million elementary school. Board members also want to use a $14 million building fund bond to pay for renovations to the existing high school and for other projects in the district.
