Gackle takes Rec. 2 softball title

The Gackle Merchants/Lehr Waterhole slow pitch softball team won the women's North Dakota East Rec. II state tournament at the Hughes' softball complex in Wahpeton Sunday.
Gackle beat Proz II from Devils Lake 13-2 to claim the championship.
They downed the Harvey Gloves 9-8 in the semi-finals earlier in the day.
Ness Flooring in Fargo took third place with a 13-10 win over Harvey.
Chiro Sports Bar from Hillsboro beat Fordville 11-5 for fifth place, while Work Zone II downed McMenamy's from Grand Forks for seventh place.
Eleven teams took part in the two day tournament.
