Authorities say vandals cause Fargo water damage

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Authorities say vandals apparently opened a fire hose connection and caused an estimated $50,000 in water damage to a new building for student apartments in downtown Fargo.

Fire officials said they found water coming from the third floor of the building around 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

Fargo Assistant Fire Chief Larry Schuh said a lobby on the first floor was among the areas damaged.

North Dakota State University students are to start moving into the five-story building on Monday. The Cityscapes building can house up to 200 students.
