The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, 2009 at Evergreen United Methodist Church, Wahpeton. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at Willow Creek Chapel (920 3rd Ave. N.) Wahpeton.
Burial will be at Memory Gardens, Valley City, N.D. Arrangements are with Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.

Jerry was united in marriage to Mary Bertram on Aug. 18, 1973. In 1975 he started farming at the Schradieck home farm until 1997 when he started his counseling career at Richland County Vo-Tech. He later was a counselor at Campbell, Minn. and Fairmount, N.D. before he became Fairmount’s principal. He most recently was Academic Counselor at Sisseton-Wahpeton Tribal College, Sisseton, S.D.
Jerry was an active member of Evergreen United Methodist Church, Wahpeton, where he served as the chair of the church’s council, was a lay leader, and also taught Sunday School.
He served on the Wahpeton School Board for ten years, was past president of the National Sunflower Association as well as a charter member. He was a member of National Counseling Association and past president of North Dakota Counseling Association. Jerry was a member of the Masonic Lodge and dedicated his life toward education which was passed on to his daughters.
Jerry is survived by: his wife, Mary Schradick, rural Wahpeton; his three daughters, Elizabeth (Derek) Abrahams, their children, Isabella and John, Fergus Falls, Minn.; Eleanor (Nathan) Engelby, and daughter Leah, Mazomanie, Wis.; Hannah Schradick, rural Wahpeton; his mother, Doretha Schradieck, Wahpeton; his sister, Jean (James) Pallansch, Tacoma, Wash., and his brother-in-law, Bill Bertram, Valley City.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer.
