Irwin finishes 16th at golf meet
Wahpeton golfer Tawny Irwin placed 16th at the East/West Classic golf meet in Jamestown.
The two day meet was held Monday and Tuesday.
Fargo Shanley won the team title with a two day total of 665.
Laura Kraft of Jamestown was the medalist with a 144.
Irwin finished with an 88 Tuesday for a two day total of 177.
“Tawny struggled putting both days,” coach Jeff Ralph said. “When we get some more practice under our belts that part of her game will improve. The final day was a much nicer day and the scores showed that.”
Lamesha Schmidt finished in 47th place for the Huskies with another 102.
Wahpeton’s Bella Yaggie had two pars Tuesday and finished with a two day total of 255.
“Lamesha has the potential to get down around the 90 mark by the end of the season,” Ralph said. “Bella will also see continued improvement as we move through the season.”
Their next meet is Monday, when they travel to Devils Lake.
