Amy Betz and Thomas McCartney announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.
Parents of the bride are Marilyn and Herbert Betz of Downers Grove, Ill. Parents of the groom are Mary Jean and Michael McCartney, Breckenridge, Minn.
Amy graduated from Benet Academy, Lisle, Ill., and received both undergraduate and graduate degrees in nursing at Loyola University, Chicago, Ill. She is employed as a cardiology nurse practitioner at Loyola University Medical Center, located in Maywood, Ill.
Thomas graduated from Breckenridge High School and the University of Minnesota in economics and political science. He is vice president of JLT Re(North America) Inc, Chicago.
A Sept. 5, 2009 wedding is planned at the Shrine of Our Lady of Pompeii, followed by a reception, dinner and dance at Pazzo's 311 in Chicago.
