Washington – U.S. Senators Byron Dorgan and Kent Conrad and Congressman Earl Pomeroy announced today that the Harry Stern Airport in Wahpeton will receive $4,173,796 in federal funding to rehabilitate the airport’s runway.
The funding comes as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
“This funding is a huge investment in the Wahpeton economy, and it will create jobs while revitalizing the airport for the use of Wahpeton-area businesses and residents,” the delegation said in a joint statement.
This funding was distributed by the U.S. Department of Transportation with funds appropriated by Congress.
