Margarito Garcia, 73, St. Catherine’s Living Center, Wahpeton, N.D., formerly of Breckenridge, Minn., died Aug. 21, 2009, at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, N.D.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25 at Valley Christian Church, Breckenridge, with the Rev. Dean Bjorlin officiating.

Visitation was from 5-6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24 at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, and two hours prior to the funeral at the church.

Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Breckenridge.

Pallbearers will be Margarito Garcia, Ramiro Garcia, Ricardo Mojica, Francisco J. Garcia, Jose Manuel Garcia, and Israel Mojica.

Margarito was born Feb. 11, 1936, the son of Francisco and Tranquilina (Espinoza) Garcia in San Fernando, Municipio de Zaragosa, Mexico. He grew up there, married Victoriana Guadalajara and together they had six children. She preceded him in death and he moved to the United States. It was then that he met Marta Mojica, and they joined their families together. Margarito worked on a pine tree farm in Parkers Prairie, Minn., until his retirement in 2001. He had moved to Breckenridge in 1990.

Margarito enjoyed cook outs, walking in the park and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He loved to watch western movies with his family.

He is survived by: his partner of 32 years, Marta Macias; his children and grandchildren, Francisco (Maribel) Garcia, and children, Victoria Vanessa and Ana Michelle; Jose Manuel (Lorena) Garcia, and children, Ximena, Jose Manuel Jr., and Andres; Elva (Ramon) Martinez and children, Walberto and Johanna; Quirina (Juan Manuel) Aguirre, and children, Nataly (Miguel Angel) Gonzalez (son, Francisco Javier), Jesus, Alejandra and Juan Angel; Margarito (Yolanda) Garcia, children, Julio Cesar, Yolanda Margarita, Ana Gabriel; Magda Aracely (Joaquin) Medina, children, Sofia and Magaly; Margarito Jr. (Karen) Garcia, and children, Destiny, Diane and Faith Marie; Ramiro (Heather) Garcia and children, Miguel Margarito, GiVanni Ramiro, Alicya Neveah, and Alex Ray; his step-children, Maria Mojica and children, Joann, Janet, Joe, Joel, Mary Jo, Minerva, Mirca and Norma Mojica; Pat Mojica and children, Pablo Jr., Janet, Christie, Melony, Selena and Pat Martinez; Ricardo (Rosa) Mojica, and children, Lendrea, Cris, Israel and Natalie.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Francisco and Tranquilina (Espinoza) Garcia; his wife, Victoriana (Guadalajara) Garcia; his brothers, Gonzalo Garcia, Ines Garcia and Marin Garcia; his sister, Mere Garcia.
