"For both the kids and myself, it feels good to get the first match and first victory under our belts," head coach Kyle Christianson said. "We were able to have eight different players play varsity. It really shows how deep we are."
In doubles matches, the No. 1 Wahpeton team of Scott Kompelien and Eric Christianson beat the Hi-Liners team of Tykwinski and Gilbertson 4-6, 6-2,10-7.

Mike Withuski and Dylan Johnson won for Wahpeton at No. 3 doubles over Ross/Berntson, 6-3,2-6,10-2.
In singles matches, Tykwinski of Valley City got their only win of the afternoon, when he beat Kompelien, 6-4, 3-6, 6-10.
The Huskies' Miller won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles, while Eric Christianson (6-3, 6-2), Eric Christensen (6-4, 6-1), Luke Anderson (6-2,6-0) and Tim Lukens (6-2,6-0) picked up wins.
"I was really impressed with how well our four, five and six singles players played," Christianson said. "I knew they would have good matches but I didn't think they would handle there opponents as well as they did."
The Huskies have their next match Thursday in Grand Forks against Red River.
