Charles Azure, 60, Wahpeton, N.D., died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009, at his home in Wahpeton.

The funeral mass will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. John, N.D.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16 with an 8 p.m. prayer vigil at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.

Burial will be held at St. John Holy Cross Cemetery, St. John.

Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton is in charge of arrangements.

Charles Azure was born May 16, 1949, at Belcourt, N.D., the son of Martin and Irene (Lilley) Azure. Charlie grew up in Belcourt and later worked in Rolla, N.D. He married Judy Allery in January of 1969 in Dunseith, N.D. On July 28, 1978, he married Laurie Albertson in Rolla. They moved to Wahpeton where they raised their family and Charlie worked as a welder for Wil-Rich Manufacturing in Wahpeton for many years.

Charlie enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on cars. He later started doing crafts, woodworking and collecting baseball cards.

Charlie is survived by: his wife, Laurie Azure, Wahpeton; three sons, Gary (Kristy) DeCoteau, St. John, Brian Azure, St. Cloud, Minn., Mike Azure, Wahpeton; two daughters, Tammy Azure, Wahpeton, Michelle (Noel) Roquet, Dickinson, N.D.; seven brothers and sisters, Jeanette (Roger) Belgarde, Bemidji, Minn., David Azure, Aberdeen, S.D., Karen (Dale) Nadeau, Clintonville, Wisc., Debbie (Ron) Peltier, Dunseith, Sharon (Brian) Gattke, Rolla, Kathy (Bill) Stein, Rolla, and Bryan (Laurie) Azure, St. Paul Park, Minn.; and several nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his daughter Tracey Lynn; his grandson, Daemichael; and his brother, Glenn.
