William (Bill) Bragg, 90

William (Bill) Bragg, 90, Breckenridge, Minn., died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009, at St. Francis Home, Breckenridge.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19 at the First Baptist Church, Breckenridge, with the Rev. David Cripe officiating.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18 at the Willow Creek Chapel (920 3rd Ave North) in Wahpeton, N.D. There will also be visitation at the church Saturday from 12-1 p.m.

Burial will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton.

William Harry Bragg was born on March 21, 1919, at Carrington, N.D., to Harry and Louisa Christina (Nieman) Bragg. He attended Carrington Grade School, graduated from Carrington High School and graduated from Dakota Business College, Fargo, N.D. He married Luella Stedman on Oct. 5, 1940, in Carrington. The couple moved to Wahpeton in 1945 and Bill was a bookkeeper with Stoudt Motors of Wahpeton from 1945-1961 and with the Globe Gazette Printing Company, Wahpeton from 1961 until his retirement in 2000. The couple continued to reside in their Wahpeton home until 2007 when they moved to the Twin Town Villa, Breckenridge.

Bill served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in California in the late 1930s. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church serving as secretary for 39 years and secretary-treasurer of the Leach Foundation Board for 40 years. He enjoyed woodworking and owning his two antique cars — his 1925 Model T and 1929 Model A Fords.

He will be sadly missed by: his wife of 69 years, Luella, Breckenridge; and six children, Raymon (Miriam) Bragg, Anoka, Minn., Elouise (David) Lahren, St. Cloud, Minn., William (Teresa) Bragg Jr., Minot, N.D., Marlene (Don) Jorgensen, Wahpeton, N.D., Rebecca (Rick) Snyder, Breckenridge, and Myrna (Randy) Fatland, Wahpeton; five grandchildren, Paul (Cathy) Lahren, Emilie (Mark) Olson, Micheal (Jennifer) Farley, Carlie Snyder (fiancé Cal Bohman), and Aaron Fatland; and one great-grandson, Nathan Farley.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, two sisters and one brother.

Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, is in charge of local arrangements.
