Coach Chad Fredericksen was even happier to see his offense, defense and special teams all clicking and the resulting 28-6 win over Wadena-Deer Creek.
"It's been a long time coming. Even if you go back to last year. We got a goose egg against Moose Lake (in last year's State playoffs)," Fredericksen said. "There was a nice little 'crash the party' incident today, and we did it a couple more times. So we reassured things a little bit."

A screen pass from Walker Busse to Dylan Summerville gained more than 20 yards and set up Breckenridge inside the Woverines' side of the field.
Stephen Erlandson scored on a 42 yard run to start the second quarter and finish the Cowboys' drive.
The extra point kick was good by Erik Hiedeman and the Cowboys led 7-0 with 11:51 left to play in the first half.
On the next Wadena-Deer Creek possession, the Wolverines fumbled.
The Cowboys' Joe Johnson recovered the ball and ran 45 yards for another Breckenridge touchdown.
With 10:18 to play before the half, the Cowboys were up 14-0.
The final Breckenridge scoring drive of the half covered 53 yards.
Busse hit Summerville for another big gain.
A Wolverines defender stopped Summerville 12 yards shy of the end zone with a touchdown saving tackle.
Erlandson gained another 11 yards, before Busse kept the ball and dove for one yard and a 21-0 lead.
Wadena-Deer Creek got their only score of the game after completing two passes through the middle of the Cowboys' defense for big gains.
The final pass covered 30 yards and got the Wolverines on the board.
As they set up to kick the extra point, they ran a designed two-point conversion play.
The center snapped the ball directly to the kicker who tried a pass.
The play didn't work and Breckenridge led 21-6 at the half.
"We found our rhythm," coach Fredericksen said. "It was missing in the Wahpeton game and it was missing in the D-G-F game. Good things happen to teams that make things happen. We pursued to the football. We got a turnover with Joe Johnson. Those are the things that winning teams do."
The Cowboys created another turnover in the third quarter and turned it into points.
After recovering a Wolverines fumble at the Wadena 43 yard line, the Cowboys gained yards on the ground and through the air to set up for a first and goal at the 5-yard line.
After a 3-yard gain by Erlandson, Chandler Holzbauer ran the ball in from the two yard line for a touchdown.
Leading 28-6, the Cowboys relied on their defense to shut down the Wolverines the rest of the way.
"Blake (Anderson-Wilcox) played really well for us defensively," Fredericksen said. He's a sophomore and he really stepped it up. Jay Peterson and all those guys across the defensive line played well. We had a lot of guys going in and coming out to stay fresh. It was a total team effort."
The Cowboys host Warroad Friday for their Homecoming game at 6 p.m.
