Vicki (Millar) Thomas, 49, Kansas City, Mo., formerly Wahpeton, N.D., died Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009, in her home.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26 at Pontoppidan Lutheran Church, 309 4th Street North in Fargo, N.D. Lunch with family and friends will follow at 2644 36th Ave South Apt 103, Fargo.
Vicki (Millar) Thomas was born Oct. 18, 1959, in Breckenridge, Minn., to Steve and Donna Millar. Vicki grew up in Wahpeton, graduated high school in 1978 and continued on to college at the University of North Dakota and later graduating from the University of Texas at Arlington. She then moved to Kansas City, Mo., and graduated from UMKC School of Law with honors in 1986. Vicki married David Thomas in January 1986 and the couple made their home in Kansas City. Vicki has practiced in the Kansas City area for the last 23 years, as a successful attorney, specializing in prosecution of domestic violence offenders.
She is survived by: her husband, David; her step-daughter, Rachel (Keith) Williston; two grandchildren, Samuel, 6 and David 3, all of Kansas City; her mother, Donna; one sister, Linda (Robert) Hunter; two brothers, Tim (Sandy) Millar Boise, Idaho, and Bart (Vivian) Millar Portland, Ore.; one nephew, Brett Millar, Portland; three nieces, Amy (John) Schores York, Pa., Holly Millar Portland, and Justine Millar, Fargo; plus aunts, uncles, great nieces and nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by: her father, Steve Millar.
