The girl’s varsity team was paced by Kasey Lasch’s 57th place finish on the 4K course while Caleb Meide lead the boy's varsity with a 103rd place finish. The Wahpeton boys also fielded a JV team in a very large 40-team field fielding 253 runners for class B and class A JV. The JV boys placed 17th with Ethan Meide finishing a respectful 32nd place.
Coach Lasch said, “Valley City is the host for the state meet next month, so almost every team in the state came to run the course. The meet was a good tool to chart our progress and set our goals going into the last half of our season. Also it was the first time our JV boys ran a 5K course, about a mile longer than they’ve been used too, but they did very well negotiating the extra mile and the mass of runners.”
