Dr. Lisa Staber, M.D., Grand Rapids, Minn., and Laurence Palzewic, Wallace, Mich., announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.
Parents of the bride are the late Avis and Joseph Staber of Wyndmere, N.D.
Parents of the groom are the late Irene and Anton Palzewic of Menominee, Mich.
Lisa is a 1977 graduate of Ortonville High School, Ortonville, Minn., a 1981 graduate of the College of St. Scholastica, Duluth, Minn., with a bachelor's degree in biology, a 1984 graduate of South Dakota State University, Brookings, with a master's degree in biology and chemistry, and a graduate of the University of South Dakota School of Medicine, Vermillion, with a bachelor's and M.D. in medicine. She completed internships at St. Luke's/Presbyterian and St. Joseph hospitals in Denver, Colo., and a family medicine residency at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minn., in 2000. Lisa is presently practicing outpatient family medicine at the Deer River Meridian Medical and Blandin Health Clinics in Grand Rapids.
Larry is a 1954 graduate of Menominee High School, and a 1959 graduate of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Mich., with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. He was married to the late Barbara Grinsteiner for almost 50 years. Larry is the owner and CEO of Pal-Tech Foundry in Wallace.
An Oct. 10, 2009, wedding is planned at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary, Duluth, with a reception following at Glensheen, the Historic Congdon Estate.
