Irma A. Lawrence, 92, Lidgerwood, N.D., died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at the Palliative Care Unit at MeritCare, in Fargo, N.D.

Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2 at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Geneseo, N.D., with the Rev. Robert Smith officiating.

Visitation will be from 4-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1 with a prayer service and Rosary at 7:30 p.m. all at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Lidgerwood and Friday morning one hour prior to the service at the church in Geneseo.

Burial will be in St. Martin's Cemetery, Geneseo.

Pallbearers are Bryan Webb, Jeff Webb, Matt Lawrence, Josh Lawrence, Donna Heley and Jill Lawrence. Honorary pallbearers are all her friends and relatives. The organist will be Connie Baker with special music by Tom and Linda Kaczynski.

Irma Agnes Lawrence was born Feb. 16, 1917, in Kingston Township, rural Cayuga, N.D., the daughter of Oscar and Mary (Wiersgalla) Cubis. She attended country school and worked various jobs. On June 20, 1939, she was united in marriage to Leonard Lawrence at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Geneseo. After their marriage they farmed Southwest of Geneseo until 1982. They continued to live on the farm until 1988 when they moved into Lidgerwood. On Sept. 13, 2000, Leonard died and Irma continued to live in Lidgerwood.

Irma enjoyed flowers and her garden. She was a great cook and enjoyed baking and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of St. Martin’s Catholic Church, Christian mothers and Altar Society.

Irma is survived by: three sons, Ralph Lawrence, Valley City, N.D., Harold (Kay) Lawrence, Geneseo, and Allen Lawrence, Geneseo; two daughters, Elaine (Tom) Anglo, Gilroy, Calif., and Adeline (Dale) Webb, Manchester, N.H.; a sister, Lizzie Waclaw, Wahpeton, N.D.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by: her parents, Oscar and Mary Cubis; her husband, Leonard Lawrence; a daughter, Mary Ann; three brothers, Ben, Leonard and John; and five sisters, Amelia Illies, Tillie Sapa, Mary Suchla, Minnie Riba and Celia Mallory.

Frank Family Funeral Home in Lidgerwood, ND is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
