Wahpeton coach Jeff Ralph said, "Tawny finished the day right in the middle of the pack. She didn’t feel like she was striking the ball as well as she has in the past. But she did putt pretty well."
In the team competition, Minot won with a total of 325.
Fargo-Shanley was second with 332 and Bismarck Century finished third after a round of 339.
Irwin was the only Wahpeton golfer to qualify for the tournament.
Coach Ralph said, "This has been a great experience for Tawny and she has learned so much about competitive golf. Of course she would like to play better right now, but the experience is going to be crucial to her success in the future.”
The final round of the tournament was to be played Tuesday. But because of the weather, awards were given out based on their one-day scores.
Top 5 Team Scores:
Minot 325
Fargo-Shanley 332
Bismarck Century 339
G.F. Red River 359
Dickinson 361
