Susan J. Ciesynski, 61, Lidgerwood, N.D., died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009, at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, N.D.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church, Geneseo, N.D., with the Rev. Robert Smith as celebrant.

Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11 with a prayer service at 4:30 p.m. all at St. Martin’s Catholic Church. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will be at St. Martin’s Cemetery, Geneseo.

Pallbearers are Casey Berg, Dan McKay, Tim Durkin, Brian Ciesynski, Brendon Ciesynski and Bill Berg.

Susan Josephine Berg was born Sept. 21, 1948, in Minot, N.D., to Leslie and Arlene (Wawers) Berg. She was baptized in Douglas, N.D., and confirmed in Fairmount, N.D. She attended beauty school in Fergus Falls, Minn., and then she moved to Minneapolis, Minn., and practiced hair styling for six years. She then moved back home with her son, Timothy. On Dec. 3, 1977, she was united in marriage to George Ciesynski at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Cayuga, N.D. They farmed the family farm. After retiring from the farm, both George and Susan worked for Primewood in Wahpeton, N.D., for several years. Due to health issues she retired along with George to Lidgerwood.

Susan enjoyed her three granddaughters, camping, shopping, decorating for the holidays and collecting candles and bears.

Susan is survived by: her husband of 31 years, George Ciesynski, Lidgerwood; two sons, Timothy Durkin, Fairmount, and Brian (Jennifer) Ciesynski, Cayuga; her mother, Arlene (Wawers) Berg, Cayuga; a sister, Fran (Donald) Anderson, Pelican Rapids, Minn.; two brothers, Larry (Ruth) Berg, Fargo, and Bill (Deb) Berg, Cayuga; her beloved granddaughters, Heidi, Hailey and Hannah Ciesynski; and many nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by: her father, Leslie Berg; and both sets of grandparents.
