The Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14 at Walcott Lutheran Church, Walcott, N.D.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13 at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service Wednesday.

Arrangements entrusted to Fredrikson Funeral Chapel, Kindred, N.D.
Ruth Eileen Amundson was born in Kindred on June 14, 1935. Her parents were Theodore and Alma (Ecklie) Amundson. Ruth was baptized and confirmed at Walcott Lutheran Church and was a life long member. She sang in the choir and participated in Luther League and other church activities. Ruth attended elementary and high school in Walcott and graduated in 1953. After high school she was employed at various jobs beginning at Kindred State Bank. She spent a year in Tacoma, Wash., and attended the North Dakota State School of Science at Wahpeton, N.D. In January 1976 she married Burton Svenkerud of Kindred. Burton died in October 2006. Ruth worked for many years at Blue Cross Blue Shield in Fargo until her retirement. She then moved into the Cooperative Living Center in West Fargo, N.D. In June of 2008 she married Ken Sorlie, Fargo. She was a longtime member of the Walcott American Legion Auxillary, Sons of Norway and an Associate Member of Olivet Lutheran Church in Fargo.
She is survived by: Ken, and his children, Wayne (Joanie) Sorlie, San Francisco, Calif., Carol (Mike) Daly, Sioux Falls, S.D.; a grandson, Derek Daly; brother, Omar and wife Rita of Walcott; nine nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by: her parents and three brothers Arden, Burton and their wives and infant brother, Joseph.
