Congress approves appropriations bill
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota’s congressional delegation says an appropriations bill with money for water projects, flood control and energy research has won final congressional passage.
The bill has been sent to President Barack Obama.
The delegation says it includes $70 million for municipal, rural and industrial water projects, in the state. It has $8 mllion for Northwest Area Water Supply project pipeline to serve the Minot Air Force Base, $9 million for the Southwest pipeline in southwestern North Dakota, $9 million for the South Central Water District and $7.9 million for the Traill Rural Water District.
The bill also includes money for flood control studies for Fargo and communities in the Sheyenne and James river valleys and $7 million for the Energy and Environmental Research Center for Biomass Utilization in Grand Forks.
