Wahpeton placed two boys and two girls in the top 100.

Ethan Meide and Derek Meyer finished 72nd and 95th, respectively, to lead the Huskies boys, while Kasey Lasch and McKenzie Klocke finished 50th and 97th for the girls’ squad.

“I need to give the kids credit for putting up with a miserable October running season. It either rained or snowed at every meet in October,” head coach Larry Lasch said. “But the kids didn’t complain or make excuses. They went out and competed to the best of their abilities.”

Despite the less than favorable conditions Miranda Engstom and Jill Wieser ran their season best times, as did Kylar Jawaski, Caleb Meide, Ethan Meide, Dan Tipping, and Hunter Onchuck.

“We had a good finish to our season with all our runners peaking at the EDC or State and in some cases both meets,” coach Lasch said. “I tip my hat to our seniors: Dan Tipping, Caleb Meide, Karli Klocke, Jill Weiser, Paige Williams, and Ariel Edwards. They’ve been good teammates.”
