Mark Duane Haagenson, 43, Minot, N.D., died Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, at the Trinity Medical Center in Minot.

A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30 at the Valle Lutheran Church in Rolette, N.D., with the Revs. John K. Hesford and Mike Pancoast officiating.

Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29 at the Valle Lutheran Church in Rolette with a family service at 7 p.m.

Burial will be in the Ox Creek Lutheran Cemetery in rural Rolette.

Pallbearers will be Nathan Byre, Chad Dohlen, Brad Edwardson, Lonnie Erbes, Lloyd Haagenson, Randy Schell, Curt Schillinger, Danny Selvig, Randy Selvig and Brian Wolf. Honorary pallbearers will be the Richland High School Football Team and his many friends. Music will be provided by Margaret Wittmayer.

Mark was born on April 8, 1966, in Rolette the son of Milton and Lois (Johnston) Haagenson.

Mark grew up on a farm south of Rolette and graduated from Rolette High School in 1984. After high school, he attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks.

On June 1, 1991, he married Natalie Jean Dohlen at the Ox Creek Lutheran Church rural Rolette. The couple moved to Wahpeton where he worked at Primeboard for 16 years. He started as a press operator, was promoted to a shift supervisor, and lastly held the position of safety director. In 2003, as an assistant coach, he helped start the football program at Richland High School. In 2005 the team went undefeated, winning the state championship. In the summer of 2007, they moved to Minot where he was employed as a safety trainer for DXP and lastly at Oilind Company. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Minot.

As a loving father, he found great joy in watching his two daughters grow and participate in their activities. Mark was an avid sports fan, hunter and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He leaves behind: his wife of 18 years. Natalie; and his two daughters, Melora Rae and Melaina Lou in Minot; his parents, Milton and Lois Haagenson; father-in-law, Gordon Dohlen (Carol) of Rolette; and mother-in-law, Dorthy Dohlen of Georgia; his two sisters, Kristie (Damian) Dionne of Rolette, and Linda (Dick) Danielson of Iowa; brother-in-law, Chad Dohlen (Jason) of Minnesota; sister-in-laws, Danielle Dohlen (Bill) of Bismarck and Cathie (Leander) Logan of Georgia; nieces, Ashley and Amber Danielson, Deidra Dionne; his nephew, Dillon Dionne; and godchildren Delaney Selvig, Zach DuBois and Dillon Dionne.
