They beat the New York Yankees 6-1 Wednesday night in New York.
If you think this means that the Yankees are in trouble, think again.

But by winning the first game on the road, it puts the Phillies in a good position to take back-to-back World Series titles.
The team that takes the first game has won the last six World Series.
So, it does seem to put the Phillies in a better position than if they had lost.
But now the Phillies just have to win the three games scheduled to be played later in Philadelphia and they can wrap up the Series.
But the Yankees are a powerful club that can score lots of runs and they have great starting pitching.
Of course both teams are good.
You have to be to get to the World Series.
The Yankees have Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez and Mark Teixeira leading their offensive lineup.
The Phillies can respond with power from Ryan Howard, Jayson Werth and Chase Utley.
With Utley hitting two home runs in Wednesday's game No. 1, it seems as though he has already found his groove.
If Wednesday night's performance by the Phillies' starting pitcher Cliff Lee is any indication, the Yankees may have a tough time of it.
Lee pitched a complete game and gave up just one run over his nine innings on the mound.
The Yankees still have AJ Burnett and Andy Pettitte in their pitching rotation, while the Phillies can counter with Pedro Martinez and Cole Hamels.
I think the Phillies will take the World Series in six games.
The Yankees will win the second game at home, because they simply will not lose two straight games at home.
Then the Phillies will take two out of three games in Philadelphia before closing out the Series in the return to New York.
The only reason I think the Phillies will win in six games is because I want to see what the television network will fill with when they don't have a seventh game.
Maybe I will get to watch an episode of The Worlds Most Deadliest American Idol Police Chases Leading to My Obnoxious Boss' Wedding in Hell's Kitchen.
That could be worth watching.
