His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Breckenridge, with the Rev. Kenneth Popp officiating.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3 with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are James Haug, Brad Goss, Scott Hurst, Robert Brunner, Leah Wolter, and Duane “Ike” Wolter. Honorary pallbearers are Alan Neuman, Al Wolter and Lawrence Hasbargen.
Ronald Arthur Wolter was born Sept. 19, 1949, in Breckenridge, the son of Art and Lorraine (Kvidera) Wolter. He grew up on the farm east of Breckenridge and attended Breckenridge schools, graduating in 1968. Following graduation he became employed at a dairy farm near Fergus Falls, Minn., and for a short time traveled with a carnival. He later stayed at various group homes until becoming a resident of the Eagles Haven Foster Home in Crookston, where he has resided for the past 12 years.
Ron was employed by the Occupational Development Center in Crookston. Some of his jobs there included working at the Crookston Recycling Center, cleaning a local bank, working at the Workforce Center and Tri-Valley transportation in the evenings. He also had “Ron’s Lawn Mowing Service” during the summertime. He retired on Dec. 1, 2008. During his retirement he enjoyed going up town for coffee. He also attended the Golden Link Center a couple days a week to have lunch and visit with others. Once he got his scooter, he loved to just ride around town.
Ron’s hobbies included collecting anything John Deere, doing word searches, playing cards and electronic games, going to the casino, bowling, watching his favorite television programs and mowing lawns. He always enjoyed coming back to Breckenridge to visit his family, ride his motorcycle and visit with neighbors in Sunnyside Township.
Ron’s final gift to everyone was his donation of tissue and organs.
He is survived by: his mother, Lorraine Wolter, Breckenridge; his two sisters, Bonita “Bonnie” (Michael) Brunner, Minot, N.D., and their children, Michelle, Robert, Randy and Ryan; and Sharon (Ron) Leinen, Breckenridge, and their children, Heidi, Eric and Heather; his brother, David (Joyce) Wolter, Breckenridge, and their children, Kory, Leah and Rebecca; his housemates at the Eagles Wing home, Richard, Patrick, Mathew and David; his good friends, James, Scott, Brad, Larry, Caleb and Ashley; and staff members he was close to, Bob, Dana, Melissa, Gail, Shanna, Robyn, Stacy, Karen, Theresa, Debbie, Judy, Kim and Brandi.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Arthur “Art” Wolter; and a nephew, Eddie Brunner.
