Robert “Bob” Dohman, 67, Breckenridge, Minn., died Nov. 16, 2009, at his home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 20 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Breckenridge, with the Rev. Robert Rolfes, the Rev. Kenneth Popp and the Rev. Craig Bowyer concelebrating.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19 at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Breckenridge.

Pallbearers will be Clyde Craig, Anthony Dohman, Chris Mattis, Tim Mattis, Mark Yaggie, Robb Dohman, Matthew Dohman, David Fronning and Steve Dohman.

Honorary pallbearers are Courtney Dohman, Danielle Dohman, Amber Mattis, Shelby Dohman, Makenna Dohman, Corey Dohman and Carson Dohman; all who loved him and all who called him friend.

Robert Lee Dohman was born Dec. 5, 1941, in Breckenridge the son of August and Catherine (Neiber) Dohman. He grew up on the farm south of Breckenridge and attended school in Campbell, Minn. On Aug. 6, 1960, Bob married Marilyn Erickson. They made their home west of Doran, Minn., where they raised their children and farmed wheat, soybeans, sugar beets, corn and sunflowers. In 2002 they moved into Breckenridge and Bob continued farming. He always had a great love for the land and was never afraid of trying new technology.

Bob was not only a loving and supportive father and grandfather, but also a respected member of the community. He believed in the importance of a man’s word and his handshake. He was the No. 1 taste-tester at the Northern Grille; a member of the quality control patrol at Todd’s Welding; and the best dang combine operator around.

Bob and Marilyn have many special memories of camping with their kids and friends. In the more recent past they have enjoyed traveling with friends, especially their trip to Alaska and also the Gulf Coast of Alabama.

Bob is a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He will be remembered most for his love of family, friends and farming.

Bob is survived by: his wife, Marilyn Dohman; his children, Michael (Tammie) Dohman, and children, Matthew and Courtney, Todd (Marcy) Dohman, and children, Shelby, Cody and Angie, Troy (Cheryl) Dohman, and children, Anthony, Danielle, Makenna, Corey and Carson, Stephanie Mattis (Mike Brown), and children, Christopher, Amber and Creedence; his mother, Catherine Dohman; his sisters, Betty (Ray) Hansen and Deb (Scott) Walker; his extended family, too numerous to mention all, include Elaine Bowyer (his mother-in-law), Marcia Erickson (his sister-in-law), Chuck and Dolores Dohman, Terry and Gloria Dohman and family, Craig and Sue Bowyer, Dean and Sheri Bowyer, Don and Jeanie Bowyer and Tim Mattis.

Bob was preceded in death by: his father, August Dohman; his father-in-law, Milton Erickson; his step father-in-law, Clem Bowyer.
