The last time the Wildcats were in a bowl game was in 2005, when they also faced Joliet JC.
"I know that there in the same boat that we've been in," Wildcats head coach Chuck Parsons said. "Except they started out strong and have been up and down. We were up and down, and now we are stronger at the end."
The Wolves like to pass the football, and coach Parsons said they have a tight end who has committed to the University of Oregon.
And defensively, the Wildcats will try not to focus on one player, because that will open up other options for the Wolves offense.
"We hope to be able to do the same things offensively that we've done all year," Parsons said. "We don't want to get out of our game plan or let them dictate what we can and cannot do."
The Wildcats come into the game healthy, outside of the normal aches and pains associated with the end of a long season.
Parsons is expecting a lot of Wildcats fans to travel to the game.
He also expects Joliet to bring a large contingent of fans.
"The bottom line is that our guys are excited to be in a bowl game. It's the last game of the season for both teams," Parsons said. "Hopefully we can make bowl appearances a regular thing. That's the goal of any football team."
