If the turkey didn’t put you to sleep, the football could have

I was told Chris Daughtry's performance Tursday during the Dallas Cowboys game against the Oakland Raiders was very good.

Daughtry was a contestant on American Idol in 2006.

His band, Daughtry, helped kick off the Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign with the Thanksgiving Day performance.

I didn't see it because I was sitting on the couch in the middle of a 'bad football coma.'

The day started off with a nice meal of turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy and a 34-12 Green Bay Packers win over the Detroit Lions.

And the score wasn't even that close.

The Packers prevented the Vikings from taking one step closer to a division title.

But since the Vikings get to play the Chicago Bears at the Metrodome Sunday, I think the Vikings will take that next step on their own.

No problem, I thought, because there is another game at 3:15 p.m.

The Cowboys jumped out to a 17-0 lead at half time, which had my eyes glazed over by the time Daughtry reached the 50-yard line to start his show.

And finally, the third game of the day featured the Denver Broncos hosting the New York Giants.

The Broncos won 26-6, thus ending another Thanksgiving full of food, family and "I wonder what's on C-SPAN?"
