BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The University of Mary in Bismarck is offering students a chance to study in Italy, while paying the same tuition as they do in North Dakota.

The Rev. James Shea says the school will have classes abroad in art and music, theology, history and architecture. Shea is president of the Roman Catholic university.

The program will begin with a five-week session late in the fall 2010 semester. In the spring of 2011, students will be able to study in Italy for a full semester.

Shea says two campus locations are being considered. One is 50 miles south of Rome, and the other is in Rome itself, less than three miles from the Vatican.

Shea says the program will allow students to get more understanding of the University of Mary's Benedictine heritage.

Tuition, fee and room and board costs will be the same as in North Dakota, although students will have to pay for their own personal expenses and travel.
