James Workin scored the first two points of the game for the Colts to get them off to a good start.
Richland led all the way through the first quarter until the final minute when F-S-H-P pulled ahead 9-8.

After one quarter it was 16-13 in Richland’s favor.
The Spartans came back fighting in the second and took advantage of Richland’s costly missed layups. The Colts trailed 26-20 halfway through the second and couldn’t get back on top. They found themselves down 29-27 at the half.
Intensity picked up in the third quarter for both teams as the lead bounced back and forth. Austin Heyen scored two at the buzzer to pick up the momentum for the Colts who still trailed 41-39 after three quarters of play.
That intensity carried into the fourth as Richland reclaimed the lead and stretched it out to five with five minutes left to play.
F-S-H-P cut their deficit to one, but couldn’t get the lead back.
Connor Johnson’s free throws sealed Richland’s victory, 61-56.
The Spartans leading scorers were Nick Nelson with a game high 21.
Zachary Parkman added 14.
Richland’s balanced attack was led by James Workin with 17, Daniel Julson who scored 15 each.
Connor Johnson added 14 points.
