A Dale Carnegie course designed to help business leaders learn the art of communication is arriving in Wahpeton March 24.

Called "Communicate to Lead," the session offers attendees ways to demonstrate more effective listening and persuasive speaking skills.

Tessa Tschakert, Red River Valley Concierge manager at the Wahpeton Breckenridge Area Chamber of Commerce, said past attendants have enjoyed the high-energy class and speaking abilities of Tamara Anderson of Dale Carnegie in Fargo.

"It's not where you just sit and listen to her the whole time," said Tschakert. "She breaks you up into different groups and you're actually networking with other companies."

Although it's the third session of four, it's not a consecutive series. And while most business owners here are familiar with each other, the Dale Carnegie course draws in other professionals from the region.

"Everybody has really responded well to what she's doing," said Tschakert. "I'd recommend anybody to go."

For the past nine years, the worldwide training company has regularly sent speakers and held workshops here. In June, Dale Carnegie will feature the course, "Building Trust in the Workplace."
