FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A decision on whether to merge two chambers of commerce in the Fargo area has been delayed a week.

Members of the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber of Commerce and the West Fargo Area Chamber of Commerce were to vote this month on the proposal via mailed ballots, with results announced this past Tuesday.

The West Fargo chamber instead decided to hold in-person voting this week at its office. Board chairwoman Kathy Lewin says results won't be announced until next Wednesday.

If the two chambers merge, the combined group would have about 2,000 members. Supporters say West Fargo businesses would be exposed to more people. Opponents fear increased dues and the possibility of West Fargo events ceasing.
